Nestled in the heart of Strasbourg at 4 Rue du Saumon, Il Forno delivers an authentic slice of Italian charm with its delightful pizza offerings. This cozy pizza restaurant captivates both locals and visitors craving the true flavors of Italy, right in the Alsace region. Whether you’re seeking a quick, satisfying meal or a relaxed dinner with friends, Il Forno's menu promises something to tantalize every palate.
The pièce de résistance here is undoubtedly the pizza. Reviews rave about the Capriosca pizza—described as divine and even “magnifique” by delighted diners who felt transported straight to Milan. Each pizza arrives fresh and fast, boasting a harmonious blend of rich, savory tomato sauce, bubbling mozzarella, and perfectly blistered crusts that crackle invitingly under your fork. Beyond pizza, Il Forno’s pastas also deserve mention, especially the Gnocchi a la Carbonara. With its creamy, smoky sauce enveloping soft pillows of gnocchi, this dish offers a comforting, hearty embrace that lingers long after the last bite.
While some guests have noted the restaurant’s interior might feel a bit old-fashioned, the overall dining atmosphere remains very welcoming. Friendly, attentive staff who speak English with ease add a layer of warmth and approachability—making Il Forno an ideal stop for tourists and locals alike. The ambiance, bathed in bright lighting, is lively and casual, perfect for uncomplicated dinners or casual group outings, even those with children.
For dessert lovers, the tiramisu paired with a rich espresso concludes the meal on a refined note, though opinions on the tiramisu vary. Those who adore bold coffee flavors and luscious, silky mascarpone will find this Italian classic a fitting finale. The addition of an Aperol spritz offers an invitingly fresh and bittersweet touch, ideal for date nights or simply unwinding after exploring Strasbourg’s historic streets.
Il Forno truly stands out as a reliable, flavorful stop for anyone craving genuine Italian pizza with a touch of Strasbourg charm. Whether you want a quick lunch or a casual evening with generous portions and sincere hospitality, this little gem invites you to savor each bite and enjoy the vibrant essence of Italy without leaving France.

Right up there with the best pizza I've ever eaten. Maybe it's because I'm on holiday but my goodness the Capriosca Pizza is Devine. Magnifique! Had the tiramisu and an espresso afterwards simply fantastic. If you're ever in Strasbourg you really need this little taste of Milano.

Unfortunately I went late afternoon, and the only available meal to order was pizza. The taste of pizza was good as well as the price. It arrived quite fast. The waitress was attentive and friendly. I didn’t like interior much. It looks old fashioned. Generally good experience

Pastas were tasty, especially the Gnocchi a la Carbonara! Service was friendly and effective. We did not like the steak and the Tiramisú, but overall the food was good and portions were generous. It's more of a casual dinner spot. We were a big group with a kid so this place made sense and they were very accommodating from the moment we arrived. If you are looking for an uncomplicated dinner in Strasbourg, this is the place!

Nice place, delicious food, we had a great date with pizza and Aperrol. :) pizza was really good! I’d only recommend the place to decrease lighting to make the atmosphere more intimate, it was too bright for the late evening dinner..
